If you're newly diagnosed or just looking to connect with another family, the Family Support Network can help. You can search for people based on how they describe themselves (e.g., parent who have kids with type 1, teens, etc.), how close they are to you (if you live in the US), and even if they can babysit. Once your search is done you can send them a message.
- Search
When you search, you limit the number of people displayed based on what you select in the search form. The items in the search fields are combined together (logical and for you computer experts) for the search. This lets you find all teenagers with diabetes who live in your state, for example, or parents with kids in grade school.
- Become Part of the Family Support Network
Add yourself to the Family Support Network database and it's available immediately for others to see. Include as much information as you want to. After you add yourself, add your children so parents can find other parents who have kids with diabetes the same age. Note that your e-mail address will never be displayed to anyone. If someone wants to contact you, they will use the Send a Message feature which uses a web form to contact you while protecting your e-mail address.
- Remove Your Information
To remove your name, search for your name, click on it, and then click on the Remove My Information link. You'll have to enter your password to remove your name. If you're a parent and have added children, all of that information is removed when you remove your name.
- Edit Your Information
To edit your information, search for your name, click on it, and then click on the Edit My Information link. You'll have to enter your password to edit your information. If you're a parent and have children defined, you'll also see links to edit their information.
- Forgotten Password
You need your password to edit or remove your information. You'll see a link on the password entry page to have your password sent to you in an email. If your email address has changed, please send an email to [email protected] and we'll help you out.
